In 2021 I took sick during the Christmas season and was stuck indoors so I decided to learn a new medium. My Christmas that year was spent staying in and dealing with a nasty cold for over seven days and studying the taboo- ridden material black velvet painting. It’s definitely a unique surface, and is said to come from Kashmir. Marco Polo brought it to Europe and Edgar Leeteg popularized it.
